Boats have been a way of life in riverine Bangladesh for thousands of years. Nestled between India, Nepal and Myanmar, and located in the low-lying Ganges-Brahmaputra River Delta, Bangladesh is one of the last destinations for travellers that have remained untouched. The Ganges unites with the Jamuna and later joins the Meghna to eventually empty into the Bay of Bengal. Here the blend of freshwater and saltwater gives rise to the world’s largest mangrove forest, the Sundarbans, the home of the Royal Bengal tiger. You can sail down these waters with ease anytime between October and March.
